Delicious Vegan Brownie Recipe
Everyone loves brownies, but it can be difficult for individuals with dietary intolerances like dairy, eggs, and gluten to find delicious allergen free brownies… Fortunately we have developed a very delicious brownie recipe that aligns with a plant-based and free from diet.
1 cup all-purpose gluten free flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce (acts as an egg substitute)
1/2 cup almond milk (or any non-dairy milk of your choice)
1/3 cup vegetable oil (such as coconut or canola oil)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
YuBi Bar (flavour of your choice) chopped
1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips or chunks
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. If desired, fold in your YuBi Bar of choice or dairy-free chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out with a few moist crumbs. The baking time may vary, so keep an eye on the brownies after the 25-minute mark.
Cool and Enjoy:
Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Use the parchment paper overhangs to lift the brownies out of the pan and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Cut and Serve:
Once the brownies are completely cooled, cut them into squares using a sharp knife. Serve them as is or with a drizzle of vegan caramel sauce OR a dusting of powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
Feel free to get creative with the recipe by adding in your favourite vegan-friendly ingredients like shredded coconut, dried fruit, or a swirl of peanut butter. These brownies are best stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days or in the refrigerator for extended freshness.
With these vegan brownies, you'll have a delectable treat that's sure to please both vegans and non-vegans alike. Happy baking and indulging!
